Our Boat

In October 2023 we acquired Peccadillo, a Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 36i - the "owner's" version i.e. single aft cabin but with larger heads, shower and a large "shed" under the port cockpit.
A few other details:
  • Kemp main and furling genoa
  • Jeckells furling asymmetric with removable bowsprit
  • Yanmar 3YM30 29-hp diesel engine
  • A "shoal" keel drawing 1.5 m
  • Bimini and large cockpit tent.

Acquired through Yachtsnet and surveyed by Nick Vass at Omega Yacht Services. Peccadillo had been stored ashore for around a year at Marchwood Yacht Club near the top of Southanpton Water. The first trip was a gentle motor down to Hamble Point for repairs to the keel, epoxy coating, antifouling and replacement rigging - all by Desty Marine. On completion, the delivery trip to its new home in Weymouth Marina was on 20-Oct-23.

Perfect timing for the 1800 bridge lift
It's fair to say that we hadn't really planned to take on this commitment quite so soon, But various life events make you realise that there is never a perfect time and time can get used up very quickly! Hopefully we can enjoy our maritime caravan for a few years.

We also wouldn't have done this without help and encouragement from quite a few friends and family, but particularly: Castle Cove SC cruising group, Alan for the initial pickup, Jenny and Roy for the "official" launch, Rob and Phil for the delivery trip. And perhaps mostly Mum and Dad for not spending my inheritance - sorry you didn't get to sail with us.
